Red Tide: First Peoples Climate Action Summit

April 30, 2018 @ 8:00 am - May 7, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

Hosted in Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, a Māori iwi located in the eastern Bay of Plenty and East Coast regions of New Zealand’s North Island, the week long gathering is designed to produce strategies that bring together traditional Indigenous environmental science and scientific observations. The gathering will result in the creation of an Indigenous Climate Action Toolkit that communities can start using immediately to combat climate change realities. Indigenous scholars, activists, knowledge keepers and artists are invited to share, co-create, and connect ideas, impacts and stories related to climate change.
